Claire G. Papadopoulou Art Gallery
Artist Biography
My name is Claire G. Papadopoulou and I was born in 1939 from Greek Cypriot descendant parents. Let me take you back to my childhood years when I was growing up during my teenager years in the Island of Cyprus. During that period of innocence as a child, I was always attracted to the world of arts and crafts. I learned how to needle point, woodcraft, pottery, sculptures, culinary art, and painting art on canvas with oil paint or acrylic. After graduating from high school I worked for Bank of Cyprus for one year until I got married and moved to Africa with my husband. During my stay in Africa for the next twenty nine years I concentrated mostly in the culinary arts and I had written and self published a cookbook named Mediterranean Cuisine & Recipes from Cyprus. When I returned back to the Island of Cyprus I started to paint again. I concentrated painting art on canvas with oil and acrylic and doing sculptures on hardboard. My paintings are of various type of forms, such as, realism, painterly, impressionism, expressionism-(fauvism), abstraction and abstract. I hope you enjoy the paintings and thank you for visiting Claire G. Papadopoulou Art Gallery.
